Tenafly Nature Center is a sanctuary for human visitors - an island of green where bonds with nature can be renewed. Whether you have an hour or a day, our woods offer a peaceful respite from the rush of daily life.
July 2007 - What better is there to do on a lovely summer afternoon, when it's not too hot to go on a nature trail as a family, especially when there is a lot of shade and so much to see!
On this particular afternoon, we took the Yellow Trail, which their website describes as their "most popular trail for families and individuals with small children". It was perfect for us (not that we haven't done anything tougher than that). It was only 1/3 of a mile long, but we took our time and explored.
We had a nice time, and got to enjoy it with friends. Our one friend was pregnant, and she was not exhausted or uncomfortable at the end of the trail, so that gives you another idea of how leisurely it was. We definitely recommend it. Especially now that the weather is beginning to get warmer (finally).
This is about all we did there. I'd love to go back and check out the programs they offer. Check them out on their website at: http://www.tenaflynaturecenter.org/programs.html.
