==================================

October 2007.  Both our girls were small, ages 2 and under 1 year, so we opted to carry both of them on our backs.  The trail is easy in some parts, but requires a little more effort in others.  So, be careful with babies and tots!  Nowadays, I wouldn't mind allowing my 4-year-old to walk and climb on a trail like this.  She's done a much more difficult one this year (I will share soon) and was such a trooper!

My advice, pack snacks and water (we packed a thermos of cocoa because it was chilly that day), wear comfortable/durable shoes and eat your Wheaties!  This is a long hike (approx 2 hours), if you're not prepared, you will only make yourself miserable and not enjoy the lovely sights.  Oh, and uh, you might want to bring some toilet paper along in case you get the urge to go!  Along the trail, when we stopped for our warm drinks, the chilliness got the best of us and we had to take turns hiding behind a tree!  Also, Leila was recently potty trained, so we knew she would not be able to hold it much longer and made sure she watered the plants too.

This was certainly one of the more interesting trails.  There was so much to see.  From natural beauties to strange, unexplainable objects and structures!

Oh, I have another tip for ya.  Start this hike early in the day.  It took us longer than the two hours because we kept stopping to investigate and take pics and breaks.  Not to mention toting kids on our backs slowed us down a bit.  We started on the trail a little before 3pm, thinking we had plenty of time before the sun started to set.  It was 6pm before we were back at the beginning of the loop, where our car was parked.  Yeah, it was nearly dark already.  We were pretty scared toward the end of the trail because we didn't know if we'd get stuck in the woods in the dark without knowing our way out!  Lesson learned!
